From the large window of my studio, landscapes penetrate. Trees and plants are characters in my paintings; they will look familiar to you. Animals are also very present there; I don't see them as strange but on the contrary friendly, trying to share their feelings with us, questioning us. You will see dogs, horses, whales, and also mermaids. The actors, men and women who perform there are in representation for you. Some of my paintings carry the pictorial narrative of travel emotions as a backdrop. Other drawings and paintings are snapshots of the intimacy of our lives, simple moments when happiness alone seems to be the real subject. My paintings, my "images", are generally poetic scenes, color stories, they sometimes look like spectacle tragedies, trompe l'oeil operas; each room has its own universe. If I embark on this pictorial expedition our dreamy melancholy, and why not in the batch, the pangs of life, it is to testify in my painting of the candor, of the benevolence of the enchanted souls that I perceive, often in a unexpected.

 

For more than half a century, I have observed a complex world, whose poetic dimension is rooted precisely in this complexity, like a revegetation of the arid, like these grasses, these shrubs and these flowers which are sown by the wind and the birds emerge audaciously, from the smallest vacant interstice of the city.

Painting is the art of happy illusion. The more one is conquered by a painting, the more one is attached to its genesis, to its history; it becomes part of his imagination.
